Let us provide you with high-quality care and life-changing experiences!
Founder of My Ability Matthew Fletcher has been working in this field since 2017. At just 17 years old; Matthew had worked with several people with varying disabilities, providing him with experience at all levels of the spectrum. At 18, Matthew moved out to Brisbane, Australia to play Rugby League. With plenty of spare time on his hands he decided to begin his own business supporting individuals with autism/ learning difficulties and their families. This quickly became a success, and the work was highly regarded around Brisbane. Throughout this time Matthew was able to witness first-hand the benefits in providing athletes as support workers. Motivated by his extensive network of fellow professional athletes and many requests from people seeking support, he created the My Ability platform to connect a community, with a vision to grow nationally.
Matthew was brought up with a brother with learning difficulties, so has experience in this area. My Ability is the evolution of Matthew’s innate desire to create positive impact and build a community of athletes and young people committed to connecting with children and adults living with disabilities. To share time, experiences and connect meaningfully which will enhance the client's perception of what is possible, that nothing can hold you back and together, we can achieve anything.
We understand that not one care plan fits all. Daily services can include anything from supporting out in the community, meal preparation, hygiene, cleaning, and supervision straight through to attending sports clubs, learning new sports and various skills. We will take the time to get to know you and ensure that your needs and wants are adhered to 100% of the time. We develop an individualized care plan that fits their specific needs.
Young adults, as support workers, have the energy and infectious personality to support children and young adults living with a disability. Here at My Ability, we form lifelong friendships. The individuals we support see us more as friends than caregivers, which is why My Ability has been as successful as it has been. The one-on-one attention we give each client is second to no other, our biggest aim here at My Ability is to put smiles on the faces of the individuals we support and their families, and we do just that.
